Why Vulkan? <\/h3>\n

Vulkan SC is a New Generation security-critical computing and graphics API proposed by the Khronos Group. Built from the ground up for parallel processing, Vulkan is a revolutionary, highly efficient, open-standards API that provides broad, flexible, low-level GPU access to modern GPUs. It provides enhanced functionality with greater performance and flexibility. Vulkan not only reduces CPU workload, but also provides multi-threading capabilities and moves the management of some functions to the application layer, enabling greater control with less overhead to deliver performance gains. Vulkan is suitable for a wide variety of applications currently supported by OpenGL and OpenCL or CUDA\u00ae .<\/p>\n

Air refueling<\/h3>\n

Mid-air refueling involves the transfer of fuel from one aircraft to another. This capability requires maximum precision, maintaining alignment between the boom tip and receiver receptacle while both aircraft are moving at high speeds. A false calculation has the potential to cause a disaster. The computer algorithms used to calculate the distance between refueling components, as well as the calculations required for connection, disconnection and fuel transfer, require critical security to ensure successful refueling. Airbus Defence & Space is currently using Vulkan computing capabilities in its automatic refueling program.<\/p>\n
