MANNARINO has signed an agreement with one of the world’s leading developers of health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS) to support its systems and software development team. HUMS uses data from various aircraft sensors to provide maintainers and operators with a comprehensive view of aircraft health. HUMS provides a systematic approach to maintenance planning that improves availability and mission capability. The result is a decrease in total cost of ownership by reducing scheduled maintenance and aircraft mishap rates.

MANNARINO is currently involved in the development of HUMS for several helicopter platforms.

MANNARINO’s development programme responsibilities include:

  • System safety assessment according to SAE ARP 4761, including the creation of HUMS FHA and PSSA documents.
  • System configuration
  • Requirements definition and management
  • Development and verification of HUMS software applications according to RTCA/DO-178B Level B guidelines
  • Full software lifecycle support
  • Software level test environment development
  • Supporting HUMS Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) efforts with various certification authorities
